The American First Day Cover Society is seeking FDCs and other related items for inclusion in its Hospitality Suite Silent Auction during Great American Stamp Show. GASS 2025 will be held August 14-17 in Schaumburg, IL.
Each night, Wednesday the 13th through Saturday the 16th, the AFDCS — the only not-for-profit organization dedicated to the collection and enjoyment of FDCs — hosts a free lounge where people can socialize. The lots in the Silent Auction are available for viewing and those attending may enter bids without saying a word or holding up a card or paddle. (Talking is permitted, however, maybe even singing.) At the end of night Saturday, the winners of the lots are determined.
The AFDCS is looking for small lots of single covers or issues, with a retail value of $10 or more. Please send your donations by June 30 to Lorraine Bailey, 2703 Arlington Blvd. Unit 102, Arlington, Va. 22201-1332. All proceeds from the Silent Auction will be acknowledged as donations. The AFDCS is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
